TEXTURED TABLE SETTINGS FOR FALL 2013 FROM CHILEWICH

Provide will soon be showcasing two beautiful new styles for Fall 2013 from Chilewich in our showroom and online.

Pictured at top is the Knit Tablemat (in a round shape that is great for smaller tables) that mimics the warm, natural feel of knitwear but has the same functionality as the rest of the Chilewich collection. The Knit Tablemat has a 15 inch diameter and is available in Brown, Grey or Tan. The second image shows the new Tulle Tech style (creatively styled with Rina Menardi ceramics) that Sandy Chilewich describes as "The unexpected merging of material and process. The design is contemporary... the process (soutache) is ancient and the materials are functional". The Tulle Tech is available as rectangular tablemat and as a table runner. It features handwoven metallic thread in copper or silver on a black base.

These two new introductions are elegant and sophisticated solutions for dressing your table this fall.

PROVIDE DESIGNS A FIRST HOME FOR A CHARISMATIC FAMILY

Provide is thrilled to share with you one of our recently completed design interiors project for a wonderfully cool and stylish couple and their (now over 1 year old) beautiful boy. Located in downtown Vancouver, this town home features beautiful natural light (it faces a lush park) and an open living/dining/kitchen area that easily accommodates the couples' family and friends for social gatherings, allows them to work freely (via laptops), and promotes calm, relaxed living when on their own.

The base palette for the home is neutral, white ash was used in the custom wood dining table, coffee table and storage cabinets (all by Christian Woo) – the sectional sofa (also custom) and carpet (by Salari) are in two different shades of grey. Pops of colour come from the Saarinen Womb Chair in chartreuse, the turquoise wool poof (Salari), the Charalene Mullen cushions of their collection of masks (acquired on their travels) is given pride of place in the built-in shelving unit. Over the dining table, we used a trio of Niche Modern solitaire glass pendants in grey that provides elegant lighting for dinner parties and a dramatic focal point for the room.

Upstairs, the main bedroom acts as a calming retreat with it's serene and muted hues. The Bensen bed cleverly lifts up offering much needed storage for the owner's materials and crafts. The bed is upholstered in a light turquoise fabric and is accented with artistic cushions from Eskayel. Lighting is from Anglepoise and various accessories such as the Loyal Loot log bowl and the cast iron owls provide whimsical touches.

A warm, relaxed home for a cool, vibrant family – a perfect combination!

THE LATEST FROM MTH WOODWORKS

Provide is proud to have the opportunity to be in collaboration with MTH Woodworks, a functional art and design company that focuses on creating beautiful one of a kind furniture and art pieces using salvaged wood from our stunning B.C. forests.

Michael and Tanja draw their inspiration from the great outdoors and the serenity that trees and nature give them every day. With a focus on sustainability, MTH insures that all of the tree bases used have fallen naturally or have washed up on our West Coast shores. No two pieces will ever be the same.

The newest edition to their Bloom Collection includes stunning headboards and wall art where the wood face peaks through the natural resin surface, exposing us to the natural beauty of the cedar stumps and the many rings of grain that define the long life lived by these giants that dominant our coastal forests.

A SPLASH OF SEA BLUE FOR THE BATHROOM

The bathroom may be the smallest room in the home but that doesn't mean it can't have large style. Bathrooms should be a place to retreat to after a long day at work, a place where you can close the door and forget about   the world outside.

The easiest way to achieve a calming relaxing look in your bathroom is to introduce some beautiful accessories. One of our favorite bath collections includes Martha Sturdy's in Sea, which has the feeling of sea glass due to its transparent quality. This beautiful teal blue is accented in the colours in Missoni's Giacomo bath towels to create a cohesive look. Add a lovely recycled glass carafe by Roost and some fantastic skin care items from Triumph & Disaster, and you are sure to obtain a beautiful bathroom oasis you can't wait to come home to.
