A THOUSAND YEAR OLD MATERIAL, TERRACOTTA ARRIVES AT PROVIDE

Provide is now showcasing BARTER, a unique collection of hand-made accessories for the home and table.

Terracotta is simple in material, yet complex in history. Part of Barter's goal is to develop a local, sustainable material palette, while connecting to natural materials of our origin. Terracotta has been used to gather water, cook food and tell stories for tens of thousands of years, it tells a story of nourishment with human essentials at the center.

Designed by Kenneth Torrance, this collection is hand-made in Vancouver with clays harvested from North America. It is a collaboration of local people, materials and stories and we are happy to be showcasing the collection here at the store.

MEGAN'S TOP 10 AFFORDABLE HOLIDAY GIFT IDEAS

This week we had our first snowfall in Vancouver, it's official, the Christmas Season is in full swing! As I write this, the aroma of hot cider and fresh fir trees fill the store and it's hard to believe there are only two weeks left until Christmas. I'm thinking I should get cracking on my shopping and thought I'd share my top 10 personal favorite, and affordable, gift ideas with you all.

To describe a few...We recently received some extraordinary smelling candles from Missoni and I have to say, I'm obsessed with the 'Monterosa' candle, It smells of balsam, cypress and sandalwood, and in my opinion, is the perfect candle for the Holidays. Shereen De Rousseau's jewellery is a favorite of mine and these coin earrings would make a lovely addition to a special lady's jewellery collection. For the bar aficionado who prides himself in the cocktails he makes and the beer he serves, this bark wine opener and brass bottle opener are a few gifts he'll cheers to.

So Happy Holiday shopping everyone, be sure to pop in for  a cup of hot cider or a glass of eggnog!
